As a mom and a Black woman, I know how challenging As a mom and a Black woman, I know how challenging it can be to navigate corporate spaces. I've been in the digital advertising business for over 15 years, and it wasn't until about 7 years passed by that I learned the key to my career growth was to simply be myself.

My day to day role consists of me selling products to people who are in control of massive budgets, and often times don't look like me. Of course I do my due diligence and make sure I'm fully up to speed on what I'm selling and what business challenge I'm trying to overcome, but aside from that my most successful relationships exist because I show up as myself in every meeting I walk into.

Iโ€™ve learned some valuable tips along the way that have helped me to thrive and grow in my career, and I want to share them with you.

Move boldly: Donโ€™t be afraid to showcase your abilities and take risks. You have unique skills and perspectives that can add value to any organization. Be confident and assertive in your communication and actions. ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ

Stay focused on your goals: Donโ€™t let the obstacles or biases that you may encounter distract you from your vision. Keep working hard and smart, and seek feedback and opportunities to improve. Celebrate your achievements and milestones, no matter how big or small. ๐Ÿฅณ

Seek out mentorship: Find mentors and sponsors who can support you and advocate for you. Look for people who share your values and aspirations, and who can offer you guidance and advice. Connect with other people who are in similar or higher positions, and learn from their experiences and insights. ๐Ÿค

Prioritize giving back: As you climb the ladder of success, donโ€™t forget to lift others along the way. Mentor and coach younger or less experienced people who are entering or advancing in the corporate world. Share your stories and tips with them, and help them to overcome the challenges that you faced. ๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿพ

What are some of the tips that you have learned or used in your career journey? ๐Ÿ“

Growing up, Christmas was my Grandmother's favorit Growing up, Christmas was my Grandmother's favorite holiday! She took so much pride in decorating her tree and home. I've carried those memories with me and it's one of the reasons I love decorating my tree.

We're headed out to pick up our tree (still team artificial tree), and I'm still undecided on what colors I'll use this year, as we've changed our living room around once again. ๐Ÿคฃ

Is your tree up yet? What colors did you use or planning to use this year?! ๐ŸŽ„

Stay tuned to see what this year's tree will look like!

Spending one-on-one time with my first child is im Spending one-on-one time with my first child is important to me. With busy schedules and different needs, it can be hard for parents to designate one-on-one time with each child.

Karter was 4 years old when Kali was born, so the first 4 years of his life, he was my sidekick. While he's the absolute best big brother a mom could ask for, I try my best to give him some undivided attention to let him know that although we have another baby, mommy's heart just got bigger, I didn't give away any of "his love."

Once a week for the past few weeks, I've picked him up from school and we've gone for a @starbucks date. A small gesture with a big impact. He understands that's our time, and he loves having me all to himself!

Here are some tips to help your child adjust to having a younger sibling: schedule special time, involve your child in baby care, encourage independence, be present, and acknowledge their feelings. ๐Ÿ’•

How do you divide your time between each child?!

I can't believe my little love is TWO. Happy 2nd B I can't believe my little love is TWO. Happy 2nd Birthday my sweet Kali. ๐Ÿ’•

So strong, resilient and extremely funny. God did his big one when he blessed us with the missing puzzle piece to our family.

P.S. Still in love with these newborns pics @passeranyc.

If I'm being completely honest; by the time I get If I'm being completely honest; by the time I get back from two different school drop offs, I'm DRAINED. Y'all know how it goes. Same routine every morning, but somehow we find ourselves repeating the same thing over and over.

But, there are those mornings where things go smooth, everyone is in a great mood and we make it out the door without rushing.

So here's an appreciation post for those mornings. ๐Ÿ’•

Doing Kali's hair for school reminds me so much of being a kid. My mama did NOT play about my hair (that's why Im tender headed now), and I have such fond memories of all the hairstyles she would give me and the pretty barrettes and "bubbles," she used in my hair. Love that I get to make these memories with my little girl as well!

And one thing about Kali's big brother. He's always going to hype her up! ๐Ÿฅน

Moms just wanna have fun! This past weekend my gir Moms just wanna have fun! This past weekend my girls and I secured the sitters and got together for a few hours of food, drinks, laughs, memories and even Tik Tok videos lol.

Before the hustle and bustle of the holiday season kicks in and we start doing things for everyone else, we made time to to fill our cups (literally and figuratively ๐Ÿคญ). BTW @costco Prosecco always hits for the mimosa bar!

Fun fact: I'm not the hostess friend. I like to pay my money and show up. ๐Ÿ˜‚ However, I wanted to step out of my comfort zone and curate a cute little setup for the girls. I think I did good!

Speaking of hosting, I can't wait to share more of the spaces in our home we've recently redesigned. Thanks @decor_ruum for bringing our vision to reality!

SIX!! I can't believe I have a 6 year old. ๐Ÿฅน Ha SIX!! I can't believe I have a 6 year old. ๐Ÿฅน Happy Birthday to the boy who made me a MOM. Being your mother is an honor and a privilege. I thank God every day for blessing me with such a kind, empathetic, smart, and all around amazing son. You are so special to our family, and we love you.

Happy Birthday @karter.dilworth!๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’™
Last Sunday we visited our family fav @alstedefarm Last Sunday we visited our family fav @alstedefarms in Chester, NJ. I first visited this farm prior to having children, and always said I couldn't wait to bring my future kids here. We had Karter's first birthday party here and it's been our yearly tradition.

We didn't get a chance to visit the last two years because I was super pregnant in 2021 (no chance I was doing all that walking) and in 2022 time just didn't permit.

I was so excited for Kali's first visit! She was a little unsure at first but she quickly loosened up and the kids had a BALL! We picked some delicious apples, grabbed some pumpkins, and they even had to have ice cream despite how cold it was!

You know mamma had to leave with something, so I made sure to grab some apple cider donuts, apple cider and even some wine! They offer wine tastings here....this may or may not be why I love this farm.

Have you made a trip to the farm this fall or plan on going?!
